You'll see a text box with options:
Title (optional, but recommended)
Body text (your main message)
Image upload area
Publish/schedule options
Expected result: Update form is open and ready
Step 4: Write an engaging update title
Click the Title field (if present)
Write a short, compelling title (3β8 words):
β "3rd place finish at Brands Hatch!"
β "Behind the scenes: Qualifying day prep"
β "Big thanks to my amazing sponsors"
β "Update" (too generic)
β "Racing is cool" (not specific enough)
Expected result: Your title is attention-grabbing and clear
Step 5: Write your update body
Click the Body or Description field
Write your update (50β150 words is ideal):
Structure for race updates:
Your result (position/time)
How the race went (one sentence)
Highlight or learning point (one sentence)
Thank sponsors or supporters (one sentence)
Preview what's next (one sentence)
Example:
"P2 finish at Brands Hatch Round 3! Started well but had to manage fuel in the final 10 laps β strategic decision that nearly paid off. Learned a lot about tyre management in the heat. Big thanks to [Sponsor Name] for their support today. Next race is Silverstone in 2 weeks β can't wait! π"
Structure for non-race updates:
What's happening (one sentence)
Context or why it matters (2β3 sentences)
Call to action or emotion (one sentence)
Example:
"Excited to announce I'm now taking season sponsorships! I've put together 3 sponsorship packages that I think offer amazing value. Whether you're a local business or dedicated fan, there's something for you. Check out my tiers and let's partner up for 2024! π"
Expected result: Your update is ready to publish
Step 6: Add an image or video
Look for Add media, Upload photo, or Attach image button
Click and select an image from your computer
Choose the best option:
Action shot β you racing (best for engagement)
Podium/celebration β emotional and shareable
Team photo β builds community feeling
Graphic/stat graphic β results visualization
The image will upload (wait for progress bar to finish)
Optional: Add a caption to the image (e.g., "Final lap battle for position!")
File requirements:
Image size: max 10 MB
Format: .jpg, .png, or .webp
Recommended size: 1200Γ630 pixels (landscape) or 1080Γ1080 (square)
Pro tip: Images get 3β4x more engagement than text-only posts
Expected result: Your image is attached and showing in the preview
Step 7: Choose your publish timing
Look for Publish options, Schedule, or Timing section
You have options:
Publish now β post immediately (best for time-sensitive news)
Schedule for later β choose date/time (good for planned content)
Auto-post to social β if enabled, automatically shares to your linked socials
Best times to post:
Race results: Within 24 hours (while fresh)
Weekly content: TuesdayβThursday, 6β8 PM UK time
Behind-the-scenes: Midweek (low competition)
Announcements: Early evening (more visibility)
Select your timing option
Click Preview to see how it will look
Expected result: Timing is set correctly
Step 8: Review before publishing
Check the preview:
β Title is clear and compelling
β Body text is error-free and readable
β Image is high-quality and relevant
β All sponsor names spelled correctly
β Links work (if you added any)
β No typos or grammar errors
If something needs fixing, click Edit and update it
Once satisfied, click Publish or Schedule
Expected result: Update is live on your profile
Step 9: Share your update elsewhere
After publishing, amplify your reach:
Copy your profile URL (e.g., sponsordriven.com/your-name)
Share to your other platforms:
Instagram: Screenshot the update + your profile link
Twitter/X: "Just posted a race recap on my Sponsor Driven profile β check it out!"
TikTok: Short video clip + link in bio
WhatsApp/email: Direct message to your sponsor list
Template share text:
"New race update on Sponsor Driven β how I performed at [Event]. Check out my profile and sponsor my next race: [link]"
Expected result: Your update gets cross-platform visibility
Step 10: Engage with comments (Optional but powerful)
Return to your update on Sponsor Driven
Look for any comments from supporters
Reply to thoughtful comments with:
β€οΈ A thank you
An answer to questions
A personal message (not generic)
Example:
"Thanks so much! Really appreciate the support β it makes a huge difference knowing people care. Hope to see you at the next race! π"
Why this matters: Replying builds loyalty and encourages more supporters
Expected result: Supporters feel valued and engaged
